Adrift - Fairytale Print by ThoseParasolDays' Shop

This was originally made for Illustration Friday's prompt "Adrift" and the inspiration for it was Jon Blund(Swedish), or The Sandman as he's known to the English-speaking world; the story goes that he carries two umbrellas - an ordinary "empty" one for the naughty children and one for the good ones that's filled with wondrous images on the inside. He induces sleep by dripping warm milk into their eyes. I work with the feral colonies in La Mata, Spain, entered the recent To Happy Vegans Tombola and hope to participate in upcoming Vegan Craftsamples!

  6. Thank you all! :) Actually, the umbrellas might be the Nordic version only, I'm not sure... Umbrellas are very useful in stories - but in Sweden I think we probably associate them more with a particular story by Astrid Lindgren (Pippi Longstocking etc) rather than the Sandman, who's old and probably not much in vogue nowadays! ;)
